Special forces of the armies of the countries of the world. Special Forces Units of the Russian Federation Dmitry Ataev 20 Special Forces Detachment

A few months ago, the 20th Special Forces Detachment was liquidated in Saratov. The servicemen of the unit, who had been performing service and combat missions in hot spots for twelve years, were left without work and were forced to independently look for places for further service. Orders and medals of combat veterans are innumerable. And only the names of twenty-two dead brothers will forever remain in memory.

Vladimir Zolotarev was called to military service in 1997 to the escort regiment (military unit 3757), which was located in the village of Yavas, Zubovo-Polyansky district of the Republic of Mordovia. At the unit there was a special forces platoon, which recruited fighters who had successfully completed the course of a young fighter. Vladimir and several of his colleagues expressed a desire to serve in this platoon. But for this it was necessary to pass tests that not everyone can handle.
- Previously, all conscripts, as now contract soldiers, passed such an exam. It includes running, hand-to-hand combat, pull-ups, etc. I passed everything - they enlisted me in the special forces. For two months I wanted to shoot myself - it was very hard. Well, then I got used to it,” Zolotoy laughs (as his friends call him).
At the end of 1998, the 20th Special Forces Detachment was created on the basis of the Saratov escort regiment. The official birthday of the detachment is considered to be December 29th. But the staff was staffed during 1999. It was then that the special forces platoon, where Zolotoy served, was sent to Saratov. Soldiers from the Bogorodsk brigade, the Engels and Penza operational battalions also arrived here. special purpose(OBON). At that time, Vladimir Zolotarev had already signed his first contract. In Yavas, he served as a shooter, was a corporal, and came to Saratov to the post of commander of an assault squad and received the rank of junior sergeant. Soon he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, and in 2003 he studied for an ensign in Perm and was appointed deputy commander of a reconnaissance platoon.
Vladimir Gavrilov: We crossed paths with Vovka in 1998. I then served in the Penza OBON and was on a business trip in Dagestan. Once I went to Kizlyar, to the village, for firewood. And there some "scumbags" have already taken all the firewood. I approached, I say: it is necessary to share. And they told me: yes, we serve in special forces (they then guarded the airport in Kizlyar). They surrounded me on all sides, but my fighters were nowhere to be seen. I think: well, everything, now they will give me! For firewood! I almost didn't get it.
Vladimir Gavrilov (Garik) was called up for an “urgent term” after graduating from the Kursk school with a profession of “carpenter-carpenter” in 1994. The tall, strong fighter was assigned to the Penza OBON (military unit 3731), from where in 1995 he went on his first business trip to the Caucasus. In Gudermes, his battalion carried out tasks to protect public order. Vladimir liked the service - he signed a contract. And in 1999 he wrote a report on the transfer to the Saratov special forces to the senior position of the castle platoon. In 2003, after studying in Smolensk, he was awarded the rank of ensign.

Vladimir Gavrilov: On August 8, 1999, the detachment was alerted, and on August 10, from the Engels "take-off" we flew on a business trip for the first time. And I have a wedding in 3 days. We had such a commander, Oleg Vyacheslavovich Galakov. I told him I wouldn't go because it was a wedding. And he answered: “You will go or you are a coward!” We were introduced to Dagestan, to the Botlersky district. I went - the wedding was postponed indefinitely. And only on September 18, 1999, the wedding did take place. And on September 3, my contract ended, and I quit. He left the detachment for 2 months, for the weekend, one might say. And then I realized that I miss, and returned back.
In the army, it always seems that "in the wild" is better. But guys who are accustomed to thrills often cannot find themselves in civilian life. In addition, the comrades they find in extreme conditions, with whom shoulder to shoulder they performed the most difficult, life-threatening combat missions, become the most faithful, devoted, friends who can come to the rescue in difficult times. This is even more than just friendship - they call each other brothers. And it was because of the brothers that Zolotoy served in the detachment until retirement. He retired only in May 2010, a few months before the order came to disband the detachment.
“You can serve in the special forces forever, until some Wahhabi sends you to the land of eternal hunting. The desire to leave the detachment arose due to problems with the command,” Zolotarev explains.
Vladimir Fisenko, as two of his comrades-in-arms say, is "the most military" of the three. He transferred to a detachment from the Saratov special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he was a fighter assault group, in August 2003. Since in May of the same year he graduated from the Saratov legal institute Ministry of Internal Affairs, an ensign was assigned to him immediately. Upon arrival at the detachment, Fisenko, among other awards, already had two medals "For Courage" and the right to wear maroon beret for military merit. And in December 2003, he went on a business trip to Chechnya already from the “twenty”. He began his combat career in the detachment as a deputy platoon commander of a reconnaissance group and rose to the rank of major and the position of commander of a special forces group. He became friends with Vladimir Zoltarev and Vladimir Gavrilov while still in the reconnaissance group.

Vladimir Fisenko: As part of the unit, we held all joint events. We are sociable people and almost family, brothers, in other words, we celebrated all the holidays together with the group. Sometimes they misbehaved. Sometimes grandmothers were transferred across the road. When my child was born, Vovka Gavrilov (Zolotarev was then on a business trip) and I went to the hospital and met the wedding on the way. They blocked the road in Engels, which leads to a weaving factory. For half an hour they created a traffic jam until Melioration itself. Vovka said that he wanted to become a traffic cop.
But Vladimir Zolotarev has not so happy memories. On September 29, 2000, together with Vladimir Gavrilov, they were blown up by a land mine. As the guys remember, they were going to a special operation, in Grozny they were ambushed: the lead car, on which both were sitting on top, on the armor, was blown up by a side mine. Then the shooting started. It was then that the senior machine gunner of the reconnaissance group Dmitry Gants died. Eight people were injured.
- I had many wounds: in the neck, in the shoulder, in the thigh, buttocks ... (Laughs). Then there was the hospital. First one, then the second, then transferred to Saratov. Here he was already cured and two months later he again went on a business trip. They often tried to blow me up,” Zolotoy ironically.
In 2000, scouts Zolotarev and Gavrilov were awarded green berets for military merit. And a year later, the council of the "maroon berets" of the detachment decided to give them maroon berets (then maroon berets were handed over to seven scouts, as the most trained and distinguished in battle, since it was they who most often took fire on themselves). As the guys say, green berets are worn only on Reconnaissance Day. Because on other days they are confused with border guards.
Vladimir Zolotarev: No one thinks about rewards when they complete a task. We have two berets. Many argue which one takes better. I believe they are equal. If you honestly passed on a beret, then you deserve respect. The change for maroon and green berets is similar.
Vladimir Fisenko was awarded a maroon beret for military merit while performing service and combat missions in Dagestan, and also in 2000. The special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also had their own council of "maroon berets", which included "maroon berets" from the Dzerzhinsky division. There were also veterans from Vityaz. They decided that Fisenko deserved the right to wear a maroon beret. And the question never arises, for what exactly he takes. Combat merit is not specific operations and not the number of bandits killed.
For the first time, the guys performed a joint special operation in Dagestan in September 1999, when they did not yet know each other. Fis at that time served in the special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Zolotoy and Garik were already in the detachment.
Vladimir Zolotarev: We figured it out four years later, when Vovka transferred to the detachment. Somehow they sat and remembered: it turns out that we even waved our hands at each other! We knew that the Saratov people were also covering us from the mountain. Then the tank began to hammer at us, we were already somersaulting. Moreover, the tank was pounding on its own - they mixed it up, they thought that there were militants in the houses. So our first boy, Abdurakhmanov Fyatih, died. The tank hit the house where the assault group worked. Volodya Gavrilov was also part of this assault group. He then put shampoo in his breast pocket, and it was smashed with a piece of shrapnel.
There were many special operations on the territory of the North Caucasus region of Russia during the years of service in the detachment. But it is not customary to talk about it. The comrades-in-arms especially remembered the participation in the special operation to liquidate Maskhadov in Tolstoy-Yurt. And that was remembered because it happened on March 8, 2005 and that the figure is more significant than other militants. Otherwise, everything was as usual: they performed the operation, took the body and returned home. I also remember that in Maskhadov's house one of the fighters took a box of condensed milk into his hands.
About whether it is difficult to kill, they say that it is difficult at first. And then you get used to: "They shoot at you - you shoot." But this does not pass without consequences. Vladimir Fisenko only began to stutter in the special forces. He says that he doesn’t remember (or doesn’t want to remember) when exactly this happened, he laughs it off: “He fell from an armored personnel carrier at a speed of 100 km / h, could not resist, and another armored personnel carrier ran over his head.”
Guys often remember the feeling during the fight. They say that the head starts to work faster, some kind of excitement appears. And only then comes the realization of the danger.
- When there is a fight, you do everything several times faster, you rush about, because a lot depends on speed. Even the head begins to think faster. The self-preservation instinct kicks in. And don't worry about being killed. Each of us covers the brothers, helps in everything, goes back to back. The worst thing in combat is losing friends. And then also tell the mother that her son is no more ... This is the worst thing in our work, ”says Zolotoy.
Two Orders of Courage by Vladimir Zolotarev, two medals "For Courage" by Vladimir Fisenko, an Order of Courage and a medal "For Courage" and a medal, medal, medal ... - this is how Vladimir Gavrilov lists his awards. Fighting comrades are called "just pieces of iron." They say that when they are presented for a medal or an order, the feat is described in at least three episodes, and only then the award is sent to Moscow. Often a soldier is given one award, but is awarded a completely different one. Sometimes they may even forget, lose the award or do not consider it necessary to reward - there was such a thing. It is especially disappointing when it comes to posthumous awards to fallen servicemen.

Vladimir Fisenko: The maroon beret is the main reward. This is a symbol of valor, the spirit of special forces, our main difference. Unfortunately, it is often awarded posthumously.
It is such a maroon beret that a fighter made of granite holds in his hands. The kneeling commando was installed on the parade ground of the detachment after ten servicemen were killed and twenty-eight were injured during a clash in Chechnya in 2000. A general meeting of the personnel of the unit was held, at which it was decided to hand over money for one “combat day”: at that time, officers were charged 950 rubles per day spent on the territory of the North Caucasus region of Russia, and ensigns and contract soldiers - 850 each. The monument was installed at the expense of special forces. After the liquidation of the detachment, in October 2010, the monument to the Fallen Special Forces soldiers was moved to the city.
Vladimir Zolotarev: Now this is the only place where you can gather all the brothers in a heap. We call up, write off on the Internet, and then go to our monument. We met seven times in six months. All holidays and memorable dates together.
With regret, comrades-in-arms say that the detachment is gone: “Nowhere else will there be such a friendly team. Here we spent our youth, here we found friends.” Under the first commander, Sergei Chenchik, the detachment several times in a row took first place among all the special forces of Russia. This is not the result of participation in any competitions. Victory is made up of indicators of discipline, combat, physical training. There were no conscripts in the detachment - well-trained, experienced military personnel served here.

Currently, Major Vladimir Fisenko continues to serve in another special unit. Ensign Vladimir Gavrilov is available and awaits a position in the Engels squadron. Both of them earned a pension by their seniority and received apartments in the detachment. But Vladimir Zolotarev did not receive an apartment - housing was provided only to those military personnel who signed the first contract before 1998. 21 years of service was not enough reason to provide housing for a special forces veteran. Now he works as a guard at a brick factory and receives a pension of 5,500 rubles. And he misses his brothers very much.

There are no rules in real combat. Those who serve in hot spots know this well. If a person is ready for the fact that sooner or later he will meet with fate, he has a chance to survive. If he is not ready for this, such a person is a pity. Special Forces is both skill, and experience, and a state of mind. But no matter how difficult it is on business trips, returning home to Saratov is sometimes even more difficult. After six months of hard work in the mountains, constant risk, people are hard to adapt to normal civilian life.

According to the Russian News Service, on August 4, by the Decree of the President, the title of Hero of Russia was awarded to junior sergeant Alexander Puzinovsky. Posthumously. This is the fourth Hero of Russia from the 20th Special Forces Detachment of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, stationed in Saratov.

His friends-colleagues live next to us - they go to bakeries, ride minibuses, sometimes walk with their wives and children on the embankment or in the park. They value these minutes very much, because they know how fleeting they are. Sometimes it is difficult for them to understand us, to find with us mutual language. After all, a short message about another militant captured or destroyed (the organizer of terrorist attacks or the leader of gangs) for us is just a familiar informational background, for them it is a life that is still impossible to get used to completely ...

Fate equally

The 20th Special Forces Detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was created in 1999. If anyone has forgotten, in August-September of that year, near the large Dagestan village of Karamakhi, the events of the so-called “second Chechen war". The detachment was formed and immediately thrown into battle. Thus began the countdown of the first wounded, the first dead and the first heroes. The first Hero of Russia in the detachment was Alexander Yanklovich. In Saratov, he is now known as the director of the municipal unitary enterprise "Vodostok" and a deputy of the city Duma. Yanklovich for a long time with his group carried out special tasks "in isolation from the main forces", provided cover, extinguished snipers.

In just ten years, four people in the detachment were awarded the title of Hero of Russia, more than 300 military personnel were awarded orders and medals, 78 of them were wounded.

After the memorable battles near Karamakhi, the detachment stayed in Chechnya until 2005. It was only later that they set up a shift: half a year there - half a year at home. I talked to young officers who have been with the unit since the very beginning. One of them said: I am 31 years old, but I don’t remember my youth, I only remember the war. He spent ten years on business trips and now he suddenly realized that it was time to start a family ...

The personal life of the special forces - separate topic. They have amazing wives. For months they wait for their husbands, not being sure that they will return alive and healthy. Not every woman can do that. There was, however, a case when a wife filed for divorce, barely learning that her husband was wounded. The detachment is sure that it was not love ...

Women also serve in the special forces. They do everything on an equal footing with men: they go to all special operations with them, and they get equally dust, dirt, cold, and hunger. Danger too. After all, they are the ones who pull the wounded out from under the fire, give them first aid. If you look at them from the side - the fragile physique of the girl. But they are strong in spirit.

However, during a business trip in the detachment, each performs his own feat. The same signalers: try to get in touch when there are mountains around, but you need to urgently request help or transmit intelligence. Only a true professional knows how to use the technical characteristics of the equipment in relation to the situation. In rough terrain, this can be difficult to do - then the signalmen turn into climbers and climb a steep slope to some mountain.

Or sappers. It happens that friends-special forces joke gloomily about them: "disposable people." But it is the sapper who goes ahead of the group, and it is on his professionalism that the lives of dozens of people depend. After all, they walk along the same paths as the militants. No one turns left or right for one reason: there is nowhere to turn, complete obstruction. These trails are often mined. Especially if the militants know about the direction of movement of the detachment and are preparing an ambush.

Fourth - not extreme

Last year, July 7, corporal Mikhail Gruzdev died first. Because he went first, in the head patrol. He noticed the danger, managed to warn the guys about it, but immediately fell down, hit by a bullet. Junior Sergeant Alexander Puzinovsky rushed to his aid, began to pull his comrade out of the line of fire. By this time, Gruzdev was already dead, the bullet hit him in the head. Puzinovsky did not know this and began to shoot back, while providing medical assistance to a friend. There was a dense fire - the group was not immediately able to approach them. And when she came up, they found them in this position: Puzinovsky was sitting, holding Gruzdev’s head, which had not been bandaged to the end, on his knees, spent cartridges were scattered around ... So the fourth Hero of Russia appeared in the detachment.

Every commando knows: even if he dies, even if he is torn apart, these parts will be collected and carried away with them. It is not customary to leave comrades on the battlefield here. For ten years, 23 people died in the detachment. They were all buried with honors. They are all heroes.

Now in the detachment the head of the club is a lieutenant Andrey Chizhov. Small in stature, not Schwarzenegger, he had a serious concussion. When the battles were fought in Karamakhi, this officer was still a paramedic, an ensign. He alone at night went behind enemy lines, crawled into places where no one could poke his head during the day, destroyed all the guards in the house where the militants settled. And returned. In the morning, the detachment calmly occupied the area. Not everyone is capable of this, even a fired fighter.

Or the captain Albert Ramgulov- a man of a peaceful profession, doctor. He goes to the mountains on a par with special forces soldiers, for all special missions. At the same time, like an ant, in addition to everything that every soldier needs for a week in the mountains (clothing, ammunition, food), he also carries a large bag of medicines. And how many fighters did he save! Let's exclude combat situations - everything is clear here. There are more prosaic, but no less dangerous cases.

After all, it is only in the eyes of the philistine that in the mountains there is always “mountain” water - “crystal”. In reality, it happens like this: they drank from a stream - an upset stomach. If 3-4 people get sick, there will be enough pills, but what if the whole group? Remain folk remedies. Ramgulov knows everything about them - he collects grass, leaves. People can be put on their feet in a matter of hours. A true professional, now leaving for the medical academy.

Commander Fathers

There are no rules in real combat. Those who serve in hot spots know this well. If a person is ready for the fact that sooner or later he will meet with fate, he has a chance to survive. If he is not ready for this, such a person is a pity.

Spetsnaz is both skill, and experience, and a state of mind. You can be physically healthy, pump up muscles on a simulator and hit a pear perfectly, but at the moment of danger, each person has an instinct for self-preservation. Inevitably. And here, no matter how great a fighter you are in the gym, in the face of danger, you can easily pass. Comrades will not condemn, and yet ...

In the 20th detachment, all group commanders are combat officers. Many began their service as privates. In places that we correctly call "hot spots", people continue to die to this day. The detachment was forced to use an accelerated training program. A conscripted serviceman came, stayed on a contract, then received an ensign. If he has organizational skills and combat experience, he is promoted further. They are sent to study, to courses, a person receives a lieutenant, becomes a platoon commander, and then, gradually, a group commander. Now almost all group commanders are "hardened wolves", half of them are military educational establishments finished externally. Such commanders have rich experience and great authority. In the classes they conduct, no books and instructions are needed. What they tell the soldiers about is not read in books. For example, a grenade: you pulled out the ring, but the pin remained, you let go of your fingers - it explodes in three seconds. What can you do when you have nothing at hand, how to crush it? Cap! If crushed, the weight will be enough to keep the check. And there are hundreds of such acquired skills that save the lives of people in war. The same applies to the organization of intelligence, and the creation of disguises, and the conduct of primary interrogation.

"Cooper" will not teach life

Most of the detachment's personnel are contract soldiers, about 85 percent of them. This means that people choose their own destiny.

Upon admission to the squad, each applicant passes the test of the so-called "Cooper test": a three-kilometer run in a bulletproof vest, then seven sets with cyclic exercises and almost immediately sparring - with one, then with another fresh opponent, "from the bench." All this is closely watched by the commanders of the groups - after all, they will have to deal with the future fighter. Only after that begins the study of documents and an interview - who are you and why do you need it? It happens that a person in a duel will be beaten, and the contract will not be signed. That's what the special forces are for.

But no matter how difficult it is on business trips, returning home is sometimes even more difficult. After half a year of hard work in the mountains, constant risk, people are hard to adapt to normal civilian life - not always, for example, they can find a common language with nervous passengers in transport. And this is not the most difficult thing… That is why the attention given by the state and society to what they do is so important for them. Only during the last business trip, the detachment was in three large clashes. It was the fighters of the 20th detachment who captured the so-called "Minister of Defense" of the self-proclaimed Ichkeria Makhauri (the press wrote a lot about this), ten militants were destroyed. During the operation, three special forces soldiers were killed.

Outside of a business trip, commanders try to scold their fighters less, although it happens for what. Here, however, you can scold someone, but there - and everyone knows this - there will still be no equal to him ...

They firmly believe that military partnership is a great force. When you know that your comrades will definitely help you in any situation, nothing is scary. People go to hell with a smile. Each of them has seen it many times.

"Twenty" - 20 Special Purpose Detachment - was created several years ago. Despite his rather young age, he managed to earn respect from other units and instill fear in the militants. The first of the units of the special forces of the VV set foot on the Dagestan land scorched by battles. About 80 percent of the G20 personnel are serving on a contract basis. Since 1999, the detachment has taken part in the counter-terrorist operation on the territory of Chechnya and in a number of settlements Dagestan.

Every year, the unit travels to the area of the counter-terrorist operation.

THE CITY WAITS

On September 29, 2000, the detachment commander received a combat order to conduct a special operation on one of the streets of Grozny.

The column moved steadily along the streets of the dilapidated capital of the republic. Behind the ruins of buildings, machine gun fire was heard every now and then. Fighting was still going on here, though not the same as during the assault, but still the resistance of the bandits was not completely broken.

The squad passed the crossroads. On the next street you will need to turn around. Armored personnel carriers added speed. The faces of specialists are covered from prying eyes with hats with slits. The cartridge has been in the chamber for a long time. In war, as in war, you have to expect a strike at any moment.

And so it happened. We did not have time to reach the turn, when suddenly the front axle was blown out by a landmine to the head armored personnel carrier. And immediately, from the windows of the broken buildings and alleys, fire was opened on the fighters. Solid as autumn rain.

In response, the KPVT and small arms of the fighters of the detachment began to work. A fight ensued. The red-hot metal dug into the armor of armored personnel carriers and, melting, spread over it. On the part of the militants, "borders" began to work, but the equipment was still alive and continued to work.

The armored personnel carrier gunner Konstantin Shilov held off the attackers with fire from both machine guns for several minutes. Spirits, despite heavy losses, were getting closer and closer. Here they are already in the dead zone - machine gun barrels cannot go lower to cover the target. What to do?

Grabbing the machine gun, Konstantin opened the side hatch and shot at point-blank range the militants who decided to capture the equipment. The rest of the bandits, being 50 meters from the car, rushed to attack, but the commando immediately got them with a machine gun. After several bursts, the surviving "spirits" retreated, took advantageous positions and began to aim at the column. However, the outcome of the battle was decided. The fighters of the detachment seized the initiative and now destroyed one firing point after another.

... The barrel of a machine gun, doused with water from a soldier's flask, hissed. Machine gunner Yevgeny Mamontov, who took up a position between two concrete boulders, did not even have time to fully comprehend what was happening. For him, this was the first business trip, the first battle, and all he knew about Chechnya was the stories of his grandfather, who fought gangs in the same mountains half a century ago. Today it's Evgeny's turn to do it. The situation turned out to be difficult. The box of tapes ended, there was practically no time to change it, since the bandit jumped out at him from behind the nearest corner, he was already about five meters away. Then Mamontov grabbed a cobblestone, threw it hard, precisely, and killed the attacker ...

And now there is silence, not a single shot is heard. The bodies of dead bandits are lying almost everywhere. Powder smoke is slowly carried away by the wind. Captain Malikov, a signalman, is sitting at the KShM. Colleagues will then joke about him that, they say, he finished off the last “spirit” with a radio station. The joke is not far from the truth: the officer had to fight hand-to-hand with one of the bandits ...

The fight is over. We have wounded and one dead. The corpses of "spirits" dotted the space around.

The next day, the column again walked along the broken and dusty roads of the city to restore constitutional order, to clean it from all the filth hiding in the basements and sewers, hitting the back, forgetting about all principles and fighting only for the sake of money.

The city was waiting for liberation and purification. The city has been waiting for the peace that we are establishing.

2.ALL WILL BE DICK DOO*!

Mountains are no joke. Mountains are two-faced, they can either kill a person or save. Any climber or military man who has served in such areas for at least a few months will tell you this. In the mountains, it is almost impossible to determine the weather - it is changeable, it gets dark early here. The temperature difference depends on the altitude. Often and quite inopportunely, white snakes of fog crawl out of the gorges. Clouds do not move over your head, but under your feet. Much here is unpredictable, and not only in matters of climate. He is not the only one to blame for the fact that no one knows what will happen to the column, which is now overcoming the next height, at the next pass. The mine war is gaining momentum every year. And more and more often, the guys from the special forces have to deal with high-explosive militants. They rarely enter into open confrontation with the troops, but they do colossal harm.

In the early September morning, strictly observing the light and noise masking, we went to a nameless plateau, which are a dime a dozen in the mountains of the Vedensky and Nozhay-Yurt regions. Engineers immediately processed the area, and only after that the commander gave the order to set up a tent camp.

There is a small village on the opposite side of the gorge, - the commander of the group, Sergey Kropolev, began to bring the situation to the officers. It's almost invisible from here. Here is the map. With the first calculation I go along the main street. Lekh, you and Sanya are parallel to the left. The third group is on the right. At 11 o'clock - time "H".

Squad, like water flow merged into the channels of the streets. The second calculation of the group went to the first house. Several women came forward.

- Where are the men? asked a reasonable question senior calculation Alexander Yakishov.

- They work in Gudermes, they are not here.

- Familiar song. According to her, your husbands and brothers are a solid proletariat. Well, show me your passports.

The women looked at each other and went into the house for documents. And one of them, the youngest, approached grenade launcher Oleg Arniev with a clear desire to start a conversation.

- Are you by any chance from the Chechen OMON?

“Not by chance,” Oleg replied. - What does it look like?

- What is not Russian - for sure. What is your nationality?

“Oerzi,” the fighter replied, wanting to show his knowledge of the local language.

The Chechen woman stared at the fighter in bewilderment:

“I see that you are an eagle, but still an eagle must have its own nest.

- And what about the eagle? Oerzi, after all, is “Russian” from yours?

- No, "Russian" - Oersi.

- Understood. Good. Yes, but how good is it?

Thanks for helping me with my education. Are the fighters coming?

We have a peaceful village. We don't let them in here.

- And where is your husband?

“He died a long time ago, back in the first war. A shell hit the house, I survived, but he was not destined to survive.

The senior of the group, having checked the documents and examined all the premises along with the calculation, interrupted the soldier’s conversation and headed for the next house.

As a result of the special operation, the group found several hundred 7.62 and 5.45 rounds of ammunition, grenades and VOGs.

In the evening, the group settled down by the fire, sharing their impressions of today's raid.

Yes, poor trophies, - stated the officer of the group Alexei Vyazin. - Yesterday the results were better on the head. Either we look bad, or a really peaceful village.

The conversation was interrupted by a staff officer who sat down by the fire.

- How peaceful. Hold your pocket wider. "Operative" is. This night, a high-explosive fighter will come to the first house from the mosque, and maybe more than one. They also found a video cassette where he sets mines. So, intelligence, you will not have to sleep normally.

- The commander of the reconnaissance group immediately began to draw up a drawing of the house and rooms, to acquaint the fighters with the scheme.

- You, Arniev, will remain at the gate, as it should be for a grenade launcher. You will be watching the steps. And look, not a word. And then the talkative became painful.

At four o'clock the reconnaissance quietly drove up to the village, dismounted and went to the right house. The fighters instantly occupied the places indicated by the commander as they advanced. The shutters were carefully removed from the windows and the glass cut out. And now the specialists silently, communicating only by signs, went through the rooms. In one of them, the guys found a bandit sleeping with his wife (who swore in the morning that the village was peaceful, and she was generally a widow). An APS lay next to the pillow.

It took seconds for the further actions of the special forces. The militant, still sleepy, was swaddled like a baby in his own blanket. Now it had to be taken out and loaded into the “Ural” that had arrived. The speed of action and noiselessness was fully justified, because if the villagers quickly react to the detention, then in a few minutes a crowd of disgruntled people will take to the streets. It will block the roads, will prevent the car from leaving by organizing live barricades on the roads. And there, just look, someone will have time to lay a land mine, or they will set up an ambush.

The wrapped militant was carried to the exit. And then the fighter controlling the exit from the house, pointing to the attic hole, whispered to the commander:

- Painfully, the floor of the attic is raised from the ceiling of the house. Not a cache there, huh?

- Let's check.

With one movement, the commando knocked out the lid-entrance of the attic and in a moment was upstairs. He hit his heel. The floor hummed: there was an empty space underneath. Why is it provided by the owner?

The fighter began to carefully examine the boards: they seemed to be fitted tightly to each other, nailed to the beams-beams. But for some reason, not completely: at the far end of the attic, instead of boards, there is a tarpaulin. There wasn't enough material, right? Need to check…

As soon as he took a couple of steps, a man emerged from under the tarpaulin, ran to the side exit, flew out into the yard through the side door he had knocked out. Having made a somersault, he got to his feet, jumped over the fence and ... a donkey, spitting out his broken teeth on the ground. The nozzle of the RPG-7 grenade launcher has a large stopping power in such cases. And the grenade launcher Oleg Arniev took advantage of this.

Well, everything is dik doo? Oleg asked, tying up the unfortunate fugitive.

He just looked at him angrily.

In the evening, the commandant's office arrived for the militants, along with employees of the prosecutor's office and the local police. From a distance it was visible how one of the bandits was hugged and a jacket was thrown over his shoulders.

Eh,” the group leader sighed sadly. - My heart feels, again we will have to catch these same nits. But what to do, guys, what to do ... We will always fulfill our task ...

In the afternoon, an order came to conduct a new special operation. By the will of fate, the armored personnel carrier of the scouts stopped right in front of that same ill-fated house. The "widow" came to the gate. By her appearance, one could understand that she did not grieve very much for the "breadwinner" - she knew that he would be free.

- Well, where are you from? she asked the fighter.

Arniev showed his head from the hatch of the armored personnel carrier:

“We are all Oersi Oerzi, no matter where we were born, and as long as we are here, everything will be dik du. But there will be no rest for the bandits, so tell them!

3. NOT TO EVERY ALLAH AKBAR.

During the 20 days of the special operation, the detachment traveled around a dozen mountain settlements. It's time to go back to Khankala. But a new command arrives and again, in the morning, the detachment is sent along mountain paths to a village located at the bottom of the gorge.

The fourth group marched in battle order, entering every house, checking every garden or passing vehicles. The first results are out. Ammunition and ammunition were found somewhere, army tents, grenades and small arms were found somewhere. One of the groups found an AGS and a coaxial machine gun in a haystack. By two o'clock they had covered almost the entire street. We go to the penultimate house. A fair-haired woman in years comes out to meet him.

Hello, my name is Larisa Mikhailovna. I am a teacher at a local school.

We were all a little taken aback.

- Isn't it scary to live among Chechens? - asked the senior crew captain Alexander Novosibirsk.

“So I’m a Nokhcha myself,” she answered, laughing. “It’s just that my father’s name was Mikhail, and he also respected the Soviet, or rather Russian authorities, and gave me this name.

- Do you respect the power of Russia? I already asked.

“I respect law and order. At least you get a decent salary. In addition, I myself lived for a long time in Moscow. I studied at the pedagogical institute.

“Why did you leave here then?”

- Got married. I met a guy from my own village in the capital and fell in love. Fate.

Yes, where is your husband? Alexander interrupted our conversation.

- He left me and went to Kemerovo. He has another family there now. And I stayed here with four children.

- Understandably. And the militants do not come?

You come, they go, you go, they come. But they don't come into my house.

- You won't let me, will you?

“I am only a woman. How can I keep healthy men out? After all, they can kill. And they don’t come in because there’s nothing to take from me, and I hide everything that I have from them.

“What is it, you don’t help your Muslim brothers?”

“I will help the Muslim brothers, and people of other faiths, as much as I can. And this... Muslim strife to Muslim. After all, they hide their weapons in holy places and in the mosque. And they take the good from their own. Mostly the Arabs are engaged in these, although there are plenty of ours.

— So, not every Allahu Akbar?

- Allah is one, and what the bandits believe in has nothing to do with the Muslim religion.

“Everything is clean,” the sapper interrupted the conversation, having inspected suspicious places in the yard.

The group, saying goodbye to the hostess, continued to move.

A couple of hours later, the command "Sunset" was received, and the column moved to the point of temporary deployment of the detachment.

During a special operation in the mountainous regions of the republic, "Twenty", in cooperation with OMON, both local and Russian, seized about a thousand ammunition, including NATO-style ammunition, dozens of small arms automatic weapons with underbarrel grenade launchers for them, Mukha grenade launchers, AGS - 17 "Flame", MANPADS, dozens of pieces of equipment, radio stations, a medical field post.

The next day after arriving at the PVD, the detachment was again built in full combat. The detachment commander presented awards to officers and soldiers. After the solemn part, he brought the operational situation.

- There is a new task. He said at the end. -We will work on the addresses.

Twenty minutes later the column was on its way again.

Some names and surnames have been changed.

During the capture of RAF leaders Grams and Brigit Hogefeld on the metro platform, one of the employees of the special squad was killed in a shootout. And then Grams was shot at point-blank range. Moreover, passers-by showed the following: when the firefight ended, two GSG officers leaned over the wounded Grams and shot him with his own pistol.

    France

"National Gendarmerie Intervention Group" (GIGN). Created in March 1974 to combat Arab terrorism in France. Initially, it consisted of 15 volunteer gendarmes. Today the number of the group is 200 people. Over the entire period of its existence, about 500 people were saved and about 100 anti-terrorist operations were carried out. Ten soldiers of the unit were killed. The most successful operation was the rescue of 18 hostages from a plane in Marseille, hijacked by terrorists in 1994. GIGN fighters became famous during the suppression of a riot of prisoners in the French prison of Clairvaux in January 1978, in the liberation from armed fanatics of the main Muslim shrine of the Kaaba in Mecca (Saudi Arabia) in September 1979, in an operation to restore order on the island of New Caledonia during the uprising of the natives -kanakov in May 1988.

    Austria

"Cobra", the anti-terrorist unit of the Austrian police. Formed in 1978. Number - 200 people. The Austrian authorities decided to create their own anti-terrorist unit after the ministers participating in the OPEC Congress in 1973 were attacked by terrorists. In 1978, the Austrian authorities officially announced the creation of the Cobra. The unit is subordinate to the Director General of Public Security at the Austrian Ministry of the Interior. In addition to anti-terrorist activities, Cobra is responsible for protecting the Vienna Schwekat airport. The militants are armed with 9mm French pistols. According to experts, this weapon is most suitable for anti-terrorist operations. So far, not a single member of the Cobra has died. Therefore, the Austrian unit is considered one of the best anti-terrorist groups.

    Israel

"Reconnaissance Group general staff Ministry of Defense” (Sayeret Matkal). Created in 1957 as a special intelligence unit, since 1968 it switched to anti-terrorist activities. The number is unknown, but it is known that the soldiers are extremely young (from 18 to 21 years old). For every 100 terrorists killed, one unit soldier is killed. The detachment once served former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the current head of government Ehud Barak. The group has participated in more than a thousand shares. Considered the best counter-terrorist unit in the world. The most famous operation is July 1976, the release of 103 hostages in Antebbe.

"Flying Leopards" ("Saeret Golani"). The infantry unit, which is also called “Flying Leopards” because of its identification marks, was formed in 1959 from the best soldiers of the elite Golani infantry brigade. Until 1974, they were considered an anti-terrorist unit, while the fighters did not undergo special training, preferring unpretentious army methods. Hence their biggest failure. In May 1974, three Arab terrorists seized a school in the northern Israeli town of Maalot. The fighters of the unit literally riddled with bullets two terrorists, killing 25 schoolchildren along the way and injuring another 100. It was after this failure that “Saeret Golani” began to be taught special anti-terrorist methods.

"YAMAM" (YAMAM) - a division of the Israeli police. The number is about 200 people. Performs up to 200 operations annually. There are two women in the group today. Created in 1974 as a special service responsible for anti-terrorist activities exclusively within Israel. One of their first operations to free a hostage bus seized in 1977 near Tel Aviv ended in complete failure. During the operation, 33 hostages were killed and more than 70 were wounded. There have been no more hostage losses since 1978. 20 unit officers were killed.

    Jordan

"Special Operations Detachment-71". Created in 1971. Number - about 150 people. Leads the fight against Islamic terrorists and drug smugglers. Members of the unit underwent special training under the guidance of the Americans and the British. There were no cases of death of hostages, but there were losses among the members of the unit. The most famous operation was that they prevented the capture of the Intercontinental Hotel in Amman by terrorists of the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1970.

    USA

Delta Squad. Operational detachment of special forces of the American army. Created in 1976. Moreover, at first it was supposed to create anti-terrorist groups in the United States on the basis of the Green Berets, but the high command of the US Armed Forces decided to create new forces. Therefore, to this day, Delta is in a tough confrontation with the US Marines. Based at Fort Bragg (North Carolina). At one time they were the favorites of US President Ronald Reagan. The main anti-terrorist unit of the United States, created in the mid-70s. Engaged in the release of American hostages abroad. The number is about 500 people. There are two women. During its existence, it took part in hundreds of covert operations around the world. Including, in the war in Panama and Grenada. The most successful operation - actions against Iraq during the war in the Persian Gulf. The biggest failure was an attempt to free the hostages at the US Embassy in Tehran in 1980. During the assault attempt, the Americans accidentally set fire to a helicopter, a plane, a fuel depot and a bus, and the Delta militants retreated in a panic. 53 hostages sat in the embassy for 444 days and were released only through negotiations.

"New York City Police Emergency Service Unit" (ESU). The number is about 400 people, of which about a dozen are women. Equipped with heavy weapons, have cover groups. They rescued about 500 hostages, lost about three dozen of their militants. The most major operation- guarding the Pope during his visit to the United States in October 1995. This structure, resembling a small army, is involved in an average of 2.5 thousand operations per year.

Los Angeles Police Detachment (SWAT). Created after youth unrest in the United States in 1965. An elite unit used both domestically and internationally. The number is 70 people, one of them is a woman. Known for their fight against the US terrorist organization Black Panthers, the elimination of the kidnappers of the daughter of the newspaper magnate Hearst. Over the entire period of its existence, the detachment released more than a hundred hostages, and not one of them died. But about a dozen officers died in the unit itself.

    Russia

Directorate "A" of the Special Forces Center of the FSB of Russia (Former Group "Alpha"). The idea of creating a special unit to combat terrorism within the USSR belongs to Yuri Andropov (At first it was Detachment 7 of the KGB Department "Alpha", created in 1974. Then there were only 40 "Alfovtsev" - officers and ensigns from among the employees of the KGB of Moscow and the Moscow region). Number - 200 people. For 25 years of their work, Alpha fighters have released a total of more than a thousand hostages taken by terrorists in Tbilisi, mineral waters, Sukhumi, Sarapule. The biggest failure was the unsuccessful operation in Budennovsk, when Alpha was ready to storm Basayev’s group, but were ordered to retreat. During its existence, Alpha lost 10 fighters, three of them died in Budennovsk.

Directorate "B" of the FSB Special Forces Center (former group "Vympel"). In 1981, under the department "C" (illegal intelligence) of the First Main Directorate of the KGB of the USSR, the Vympel group was created. Its status formally sounded like “a separate training center of the KGB of the USSR”, But in fact, as expected, the group was intended for reconnaissance and sabotage activities outside the country. At first, the group had only 300 people, but very quickly it became one of the best units special forces in the world. There were no high-profile failures of the group. Information about successful operations is still almost not disclosed. It is known that once during the exercises, Vympel scuba divers from under the ice attacked and captured the nuclear icebreaker Sibir. The Vympel unit traveled to operations in Afghanistan, Mozambique, Angola, Vietnam, Nicaragua. In 1994, within the framework of the FSB, the Vympel group turned into unit V (Vega).

  • Special forces units of the Russian Federation

    Story

    M. S. Svechnikov can probably be considered a Russian theorist and author of the very ideology and concept of the use of special forces, who managed to convey many of his ideas to students of the Military Academies, followers and supporters. The practical implementation and real testing of ideas was probably started by I. G. Starinov, he organized the first combat use during civil war in Spain. Probably there was a fruitful ideological exchange between M. S. Svechnikov and I. G. Starinov, during the latter’s studies at the Academy.

    Special Forces Units (SPN)

    • "Zenith" - task force for special purposes (OGSpN) of the KGB of the USSR
    • "Omega"

    • "Alpha" - specializes in the release of hostages.
    • Barrier - a special unit of the SVR (foreign intelligence services). Number of 300 people.

Each territorial subdivision has its own name (for example, OSN "Typhoon" of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, OSN "Saturn" of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for Moscow, OSN (b) "Rosich" of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Ryazan Region)
    • Special Forces FSKN

    Police Special Forces (SOBR)

SOBR (special rapid response department) - federal and regional special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, which were regularly (until 2003) part of the Departments for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (subdivisions of more than 200 people since the late 1990s were called detachments). Since 2002, SOBRs have been disbanded, some employees have been asked to transfer to the OMSN (Special Purpose Police Detachment). In 2011, in connection with the reform of the internal affairs bodies, and the renaming of the "militia" into the "police", the units of the OMSN were renamed OSN (special forces). Since 2012, all OSN detachments have been given the name SOBR (special rapid response detachment).

The main task of creating SOBR is the fight against organized crime, in all its manifestations, by all types and methods, and against terrorism. Special forces were also successfully used in military operations conducted in the TFR.

SOBR KM GUVD in Moscow is the very first special forces detachment in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Founded in 1978. SOBR officers are constantly on business trips in the North Caucasus.

In accordance with existing agreements, SOBR officers are allowed to test for the right to wear a maroon beret, taking into account their specific service and assigned tasks. This is expressed in slightly modified tests.

Through the efforts of the chief of intelligence of the VV, General Kuznetsov, and his deputy, General Chevrizov, after the first Chechen campaign, attempts were made to form a regiment on the basis of the Vityaz detachment. However, veterans of the division assess this step of consolidation negatively. With the departure of the detachment commander V. Nikitenko, this became possible.

In 1999, on the basis of the detachment and the 1st Red Banner Regiment of ODON, the 1st Red Banner Special Purpose Regiment "Vityaz" was formed. However, three years later, in the interests of more efficient performance of tasks, it was again reorganized into a detachment.
