Sumy National Agrarian University has been famous for its merits for about 40 years.

The year of foundation of SNAU is considered to be 1977. It has since expanded the size of its faculties. Incoming applicants can choose specialties in the following areas:

Sumy National Agrarian University- is the highest educational institution IV level of accreditation, one of the best agricultural universities in Ukraine. Founded in 1977, for almost 40 years of existence, it has gone from the Sumy branch of the Kharkiv Agricultural Institute. V.V. Dokuchaev to a powerful educational complex of national importance.
SNAU prepares highly qualified specialists for the agro-industrial complex with in-depth study foreign languages and computer science in a range of accredited specialties. The structure of the university has 8 faculties, 1 institute and 5 colleges.

The total number of students is about 11,000. The principle of continuous computerization operates at the university: today there are about 1,000 computer places in the university, and the amount of contact display time per student, depending on the specialty, is from 250 to 350 hours. Students and teachers have the opportunity to draw information about the latest achievements science through the international information network INTERNET. A local computer network has been created at the university.

For practical training of students, there is an educational and scientific production laboratory (vivarium), where farm animals and birds are kept, a kind of living tutorial for future doctors of veterinary medicine, zooengineers and specialists from other faculties of SNAU, the actual educational and experimental farm with a land use area of 2.6 thousand hectares, including agricultural land of 2.3 thousand hectares, an experimental field, which is served by a group of process engineers with the help of system machines for cultivating agricultural crops using new technologies.

The university campus is, without exaggeration, the pearl and decoration of the city of Sumy. Educational buildings, stadiums, laboratories, dormitories - all this is located on a large neat, well-ordered and equipped area. The university has a cafe and a canteen with the lowest prices in the city, a student club, gyms, where about 3,000 students are engaged in almost 20 sports sections.

Sumy National Agrarian University(ukr. Sumy National Agrarian University listen)) is a higher education institution in the city of Sumy, Ukraine.

Story

Sumy National Agrarian University was opened in April 1977 as a branch (Order of the Ministry Agriculture USSR dated April 29, 1977. No. 95).

In 1990, on the basis of the branch, the Sumy Agricultural Institute was established (Order of the State Commission of the Council of Ministers of the USSR on Food and Procurement dated February 27, 1990 No. 24).

In 1997 the Institute received the status of a university.

By Decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 07, 2001, No. 591, the university was given the status of a national university (Order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine dated August 22, 2001 No. 253).

According to the decision of the State Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated November 27, 2007, Protocol No. 68, Sumy National Agrarian University was recognized as accredited by the status of a IV (fourth) level university for the period until July 01, 2017 (Certificate RD-IV No. 193846) .

The material and technical base of the university consists of 9 educational and laboratory facilities with a total area of 105244 sq.m., workshops for conducting laboratory and practical classes for students of engineering specialties, training grounds, engineering facilities technical support, research units, modern assembly hall for 450 seats.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine No. 180 dated 19.06.03r. " About the creation of the university center of Sumy NAU…» The university includes 6 universities of 1-2 levels of accreditation. After the redistribution in the areas of training, the total area of the Sumy NAU is 364,780 m2, including the training area - 243,185, the area of educational and auxiliary facilities (workshops, polygons, engineering facilities, research units) - 121,595 m2 .

Life of students at the university is provided by 4 dormitories for 2200 places, in colleges - 9 dormitories.

The Kolos stadium, summer sports grounds with synthetic turf, a health and rehabilitation center, a table tennis hall, and a biathlon track serve to improve the health of students. There is an indoor sports hall.

The university is adequately provided with educational and scientific equipment, including: 2 electron microscopes, mass spectrometers, sets of specialized laboratories equipped with biological, chemical and engineering equipment.
