- 3 quarter - 10 weeks (for the first classes); 11 weeks (for grades 2-11).
- 4th quarter - 8 weeks (for grades 1-4, 9 and 11); 9 weeks (for grades 5–8, 10).
Thus, within these deadlines, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation recommends that school holidays be held in the 2018-2019 academic year, and many directors of Russian secondary schools will adhere to it.
Holidays in 2018-2019 according to the trimester system
In the trimester system of education, there are only six training periods (each of the trimesters is divided into two parts) and six periods of rest - holidays. The duration of each trimester is five to six weeks, the duration of the holidays is a week. The exception is the three-month summer vacation.

The total number of rest days is the same for all systems. This is 30 days during the school year (for first graders - 35 days) and three months in the summer.
Summer holidays for students elementary school will also start earlier - usually they start on May 23-25. But older children study longer, until June 1. The 9th and 11th grade graduates were the least lucky: because of the State Academic Examination and the Unified State Examination, they will study until the beginning of July.
According to what schedule children will study, the school decides. This decision is made at a meeting of the governing council, which includes not only teachers and administration, but also representatives of parents and the students themselves.

The vacation schedule for these systems is almost the same - but each school can make adjustments to it. Typically, a module or semester is designed for 5-6 weeks, after which there is a week of vacation.
The schedule of modular or semester holidays will be something like this:
- Autumn holidays will be held twice - from 8 to 14 October and from 19 to 25 November 2018.
- Winter holidays will also be held twice - from December 29, 2018 to January 8, 2019, and also from February 18 to 24, 2019.
- Spring break alone - from 8 to 14 April.
For trimesters, the schedule will essentially be the same. Under this system, the year is divided into three academic parts (autumn, winter, and spring), with holidays in between, and an additional week of rest in the middle of each trimester.
Additional holidays or postponement of holidays in schools and other educational institutions are possible for the following reasons:
- Low air temperature - minus 25 degrees Celsius for elementary school; minus 28 degrees - for high school; minus 30 degrees for students in grades 10 and 11.
- Low temperature in classrooms. At an air temperature of classrooms below +18 degrees it is forbidden to conduct classes.
- Quarantine and exceeding the threshold of morbidity. Quarantine can be declared in a separate school, a separate district, city or region if the epidemic threshold of incidence of 25% of the total number of students is exceeded.
In addition to the traditional Saturdays, Sundays and holidays in the 2019 2019 academic year, the following dates for public holidays are set:
- November 4, 2018 is a day off in honor of National Unity Day. Since the holiday falls on Saturday, for schoolchildren, Monday November 6 will be an additional day after autumn holidays.
