Zhytomyr State Technological University - the only civilian educational institution engineering and technological profile with the highest, IV, level of accreditation in Zhytomyr.
Training of specialists is carried out in 17 licensed specialties, of which 17 (100%) are accredited for III level, 13 (76.5%) - accredited for level IV.
In addition, Zhytomyr State Technological University provides retraining of specialists in 3 areas (4 specialties), advanced training in accredited areas (specialties), training of foreign citizens in accredited areas (specialties) and preparation for admission to higher educational institutions of citizens of Ukraine.
Zhytomyr State Technological University prepares bachelors, specialists (engineers, economists, managers) and masters from all regions of Ukraine and CIS countries.
Zhytomyr State Technological University has created 5 educational, scientific and industrial complexes and 7 educational complexes with colleges, technical schools, enterprises and organizations of Zhytomyr and other regions of Ukraine to train highly qualified specialists in integrated curricula.
About 400 full-time students and about 2,000 part-time students study at the Zhytomyr State Technological University for a shortened period of study. For the first time in national history a model for integrating a higher vocational school into the university is being tested.
Ensuring the educational process at the Zhytomyr State Technological University
Students are trained by qualified teaching staff of 24 departments. The departments are headed by 16 professors, doctors of sciences and 9 associate professors, candidates of sciences. Such organizational structure is logical, balanced and aimed at optimal provision of the educational process. Of the 372 faculty members of the university, 84.4% work on a full-time basis.
Among the teaching staff of the Zhytomyr State Technological University, 56.7% have degrees and scientific titles, of which 42 people are doctors of sciences, professors and 169 people are candidates of sciences, associate professors. Of the 372 faculty members, 72.3% have not reached retirement age.
Considerable attention is paid to the training of highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel through postgraduate studies. Currently, the training of scientific personnel is carried out in 13 scientific specialties. Annually, under the state order, as well as on a contractual basis, admission to postgraduate studies for full-time and part-time forms of education is carried out.

The State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic" has everything necessary for teaching students and their comprehensive development: modern laboratories, computer classes, comfortable hostels, a library and reading rooms, a sports complex, a student center for creative work and leisure, a sanatorium, a recreation center. In the territory State University"Zhytomyr Polytechnic" is located 11 sports facilities, including an artificial turf stadium and a tennis court. The university has a sports and health camp located outside the city. The State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic" has a medical center, a canteen and a dining room for 220 people.

The construction of an educational and methodological center is underway. In accordance with the project, a room with an area of 4200 m2 will be built. On the territory of ZhGTU there are 11 sports facilities, including a stadium with artificial turf and a tennis court. The needs of students in housing are provided by 3 hostels with a total area of 16,692 m2 and a living area of 14,206 m2. Dormitories for 1469 places allow to provide housing for 77% of students in need of accommodation. Zhytomyr State Technological University has a scientific library.
