2 . It is not always possible to find a person who left at will, because he subconsciously erases his traces on the subtle plane (hereinafter referred to as TP) and this is his right. The search for a taxi driver who disappeared a week ago showed that even an armored train can be hidden without a trace in the backyards of Sevastopol. Street cameras are fake in many ways. Taxi driver Yuri Shteymets, who disappeared on the night of August 2-3, was searched for six days in his native Sevastopol. And they found it in the Bakhchisaray district: on August 9, they found a car with a human body inside. The daughter of the missing person, Veronica, told the Notes about the search and her own feelings about the disappearance of her father.
Noon. The stagnant air is motionless, enveloping with heat. The withered grass smells sharply of hay. Dry needles crackle underfoot. It seems that you throw a match - and it instantly lights up. Even in the shade it is impossible to hide from this hell. Each sip of water instantly comes out sweat.

On the spot, it turns out that the “checkers” are old and not the same at all - Yuri had them in a different color. But we have already arrived, which means we need to look. But how? Where to move? How to understand where the volunteers have gone and where not yet?
From the heat, the brain melts and begins to think badly. We wander aimlessly in circles around the car, gradually increasing the radius.
The terrain is heavily torn: in some places the pines stand in rows, in some places the land, eaten away by funnels and trenches during the war, is overgrown with impenetrable thickets of hornbeam. In each hole - mountains of garbage. Plastic and glass bottles, construction waste, old rags, shoes, toys. There is so much of this goodness that you understand: you can hide anything here. Fences, thickets of bushes, houses with broken-out eye sockets of windows, old garages rise around. The car that Yury Shteymets drove could be parked in any of these yards.
Our only hope is that no one specifically hid it, that Yuri just got sick on the road, and he stopped where he arrived. Or the fact that the people who attacked the taxi driver did not plan the crime in advance and simply abandoned the car.
The next day - a new place to search. Orientation came: look in the area of Yukharina beam. Cottages, forest belts, spots of industrial zones. Between them in the center is the DOSAAF airfield. The terrain is more convenient for visual inspection: the edges of the beam, although not pronounced, are clearly visible. You can not drive through the back streets, but take a look at the prospect from a hill.
In one place we come across an old half-abandoned cooperative. Judging by the building materials, country houses began to appear here 20-25 years ago. But they were never completed. In the steppe, only skeletons rise - destroyed boxes made of Inkerman stone, rubble and shells. And suddenly on one of the plots - an impressive size bed with tomatoes. Next to it is a wooden toilet and a makeshift shower. And a tent in which people apparently live.

Once again we look around - here it is a car, next to the road, around a pine forest. We noticed the car only when we drove close to it. You can hardly see it from the air either - the branches are too tightly intertwined. What kind of visual search can we talk about if each forest belt needs to be literally combed, passed in a chain, paying attention to every suspicious detail along the way. We met with the daughter of the missing person, Veronika, literally two hours before the arrival of the terrible news: her father's car was found in the Bakhchisaray district, in the Belbek valley. Inside the car is a body that has yet to be identified.

At 21-30 he had to drive up for a regular client, which he took to the place around 8 pm and then agreed to pick it up - she was supposed to be the last one on this working day. But he didn't get to her."
How Yury Shteymets ended up in the Tunnelnaya area, his relatives do not know. On the first day, August 3, the closest people came out to search - only a few people. They combed the area in search of a car, some traces, or at least a mobile phone: there was a hope that it had been thrown away in the same place where it was turned off.
“We looked into the hatches, climbed the bushes,” the woman says. - Suddenly a car drove up to us, also a taxi. Behind the wheel is an old grandfather, in glasses. Two guys jumped out of it, about 30 years old, of an unpleasant appearance.
I thought they were drug addicts. They began to ask us what we had forgotten at Tunnelnaya. We say we are looking for a person. They said they were also looking for a cat. Honestly, I was scared, I wanted to run. I thought it was the killers who came with another victim. They took a picture of the car and passed it on to the police. It became clear that more people were needed to search. On August 4, a general collection was announced. In the morning there were about 50 volunteers and about a dozen cars at the meeting place. The map was divided into sections, which were combed by cars and on foot.
At 6 am, cynologists with dogs began to inspect the forest belt in the Zhidilov area. They immediately warned their relatives that they were unlikely to be able to do anything to help. Search dogs are trained to look for a specific person on the trail in the forest, outside the city. In the city, they can only show the place where an abstract person is located - this task is relevant for searching for victims under the rubble during disasters. It is difficult for dogs to search for the missing on the trail in the city - there are too many extraneous odors.
At the same time, the area was inspected from the air. A man came with a quadrocopter, filmed the area on video, moving from point to point. Looking through the footage, the volunteers hoped to find at least a car. But the idea did not justify itself, says Veronica.
“I tried to watch it, but it's porridge,” she explains. - Too many unnecessary details. Even if the video is zoomed in, the car hidden in the forest will not be visible on it. The same applies to cameras: at speed in the dark in poor lighting it is impossible to understand at all what kind of car it was. Not like looking at the number. In addition, half of the cameras in Sevastopol do not work at all. They either shoot in real time, broadcasting the image to the monitor, or they are turned off altogether.
Nevertheless, Yuri's relatives handed over all the footage to the investigating authorities.
Veronika herself walked around the area all day in a walking group. I examined the green zone on both sides of the road leading to Zhidilov from Laboratory Highway.
“We had no experience, no equipment,” recalls the daughter of the missing person. - When you come to the area, you understand: you can walk in this forest for weeks. To comb the forest in 2-3 hours, you need to bring all 50 people, stretch out in a chain and go.
We were two cars, 8-9 people. They spread out on both sides of the road, combing the forest. We looked into hatches, concrete rings. We had a map, we wrote a track. Then they returned to the collection point, marked the places where they had already passed. That day we examined a rather large piece.
It is this technique - breaking down the area into squares and combing it in a chain - that the search teams "Lisa Alert" use. Social media users immediately advised Veronica to contact them for help.
“They have forums, detachments of 500 people, they are professionals,” the woman explains. - We left two applications through the site and in the Crimean group. They did not get through immediately and only to a Moscow number. It turned out that there were no detachments in Sevastopol, so they made an orientation and published it in their group.
At the same time, volunteers distributed leaflets with photos and orientation around the city. We talked with the inhabitants of the Ship Side, talked about the missing person. People reacted in different ways: someone was indifferent, someone asked questions, someone generally behaved aggressively, attacking young people “walking” along the streets.
“We also hung leaflets in the forest,” says Veronica. - We know that search engines often work there. They are looking for the burial places of soldiers from the times of the Great Patriotic War.”

People called and said: a car is on fire in such and such an area, go and check. At the same time, they could not answer clarifying questions - they did not know for sure either the place or the time when the car was “seen”.
The children called, claimed that they found the driver's passport in the trash. Laughed into the phone. Veronica's husband threatened them with liability for perjury. They were frightened and began to say: “They definitely saw the passport, but now it is no longer there.”
“Apparently, people are just bored,” the daughter says with regret. - Someone loves cinema, feels like a detective, tries to conduct investigations in life. Some people are just asserting themselves."
Those who call themselves psychics also tried to help in the search. On the first day, a woman arrived at the search site. She behaved quietly, did not make any statements, did not comment on what was happening. But when Veronica and her husband drove her home, she suddenly said: “I can see in my eyes that he is not alive.”
The taxi driver's wife received a call from another woman. She introduced herself as a psychic and said that Yuri was alive. That he is allegedly in some room where it is always dark, far from the car. He has the keys in his hands, his head is broken. He calls Veronica because he remembers her when she was little. “Who is Veronica?” The woman asked, feigning ignorance. Apparently, she expected to have an effect on the family - heartbroken people might not have noticed that anyone can read the name of the taxi driver's daughter on social networks. He was in his native area, the caller claimed, in a place where poppies grow in spring. She had to hurry, she urged, otherwise the man's heart would stop in the heat.
“This is moral violence,” Veronica told us with feeling, at that moment she did not yet know that her father would be found dead. - It's not that I don't believe in them... I don't know if it works or not. I haven't met them and don't want to. For me right now, physical search is the only thing that works.”
These people, psychics, just want to test their work, Veronika believes. They may also be interested in money, but not always. For those who consider themselves "seeing" the missing person is an opportunity to assert themselves.

You can only rely on yourself
Even the day before yesterday, Veronica had hope. Though illusory, but hope.
“The investigators have all the information,” she told reporters. We give them everything, but they give us nothing. I don't ask, I'm scared. I'm waiting for someone to call me and say: "We need to gather a group and comb the area." And I'll go."
The main problem of Sevastopol is a huge urban area populated unevenly. “Civilization is only the center of the city,” says Veronica. - Any outskirts is already trash, even sleeping areas - Kamyshi, Wits. Especially dacha cooperatives.
Solid dead ends, nooks and crannies, overgrown roads, landfills. Non-residential buildings stand next to residential buildings. There are homeless people next to respectable mansions. There are many abandoned buildings - mines, wells, unfinished buildings. Many cottages are so cluttered that it is impossible to understand whether this is a landfill or a residential building.
With such a fragmented territory, it is impossible to find not only a person, but also a car. Even if you walk in a chain of a thousand souls day and night, combing the territory. Most of the volunteers had no search experience at all: where to look, what to pay attention to, how to build a route? And there is no one to suggest how to act correctly in such a situation.
“Actually, what I'm telling you now is a manual for intruders,” says Veronika. - Do you want to rob a taxi driver and hide - please. This is the problem of the city, the problem of communication. It's not just a missing person who can't be found. This is our common security."
Hope for outdoor cameras is a utopia. Some of them do not work at all, some only transfer the image to the monitor without recording it. Some are directed in such a way that it is not clear who they can film at all. Others shoot in such lousy quality that it is impossible to make out even the make of the car, let alone make out the number.
Veronica believes that many factors contributed to her father's disappearance. The main one is the lack of security measures protecting taxi drivers working for large services. The only "beacon" they have is a program on a tablet. As soon as you get out of it, you disappear "from the radar"
